The Department of Immigration and Citizenship policy seek to attract highly skilled and high net worth business persons to Australia through the Business and Investment programs. You must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect under a visa stream. If you meet the eligibility requirements for that stream, you may be nominated by a State or Territory Government or Austrade and invited to apply for your visa. You must first receive an invitation to apply.

The Business Innovation and Investment visas are ideal for applicants with a successful business or investment history and have adequate personal and business assets. The Business Innovation stream is for people with successful business career and has business skills who want to be involved as an owner in a new or existing business in Australia. The Investor Stream is for people with a successful record of qualifying business or eligible investment activity who wants to invest in Australia.

The provisional visa holders may be eligible to apply for a permanent Business Innovation and Investment (Subclass 888) visa after being able to demonstrate a certain level of business or investment activity.
